Meet Our Governors
Mr Simon Munro
Chair of Governors DBE Governor
Currently, my two daughters attend Elveden. I became a Governor in 2017 as I had an interest in the way the school ran, along with its unique partnership with Forest Academy. I also sit as the Safeguarding Governor across both schools.
I would like to think that my day-job [as a Chief Inspector in the Police Service] and my experience can support and assist in developing the schools. I have previously undertaken secondments to the Home Office, the MOD and the National Police Chiefs’ Council. My current role is Head of Frontline Operations, which has a national commitment. Additionally, I sit as the Police Standards of Professional Behaviour Coordinator for the Police Service. It is funny how these roles map across into parts of school delivery and oversight, despite them being so different in function.
Outside of my job, and being a Governor, I am passionate around health, lifestyle and wellbeing. I am a qualified personal trainer and I voluntarily co-manage and instruct at a gym in my spare time. It is great to work with the school in developing opportunities for the children around physical activity and wellbeing.
I find the Governing role very interesting and fulfilling, as well as being an education in itself! It is a privilege to be part of two fantastic schools and I would encourage anyone interested to sit as a Governor.
Rev Paul Tams
I have been involved in education for many years and taught in a Middle School both before and after my ordination. My experience was not only in the classroom but also in school management, timetabling, budgets and policy.
I am the adopted father of three children and so, have experienced schools as a parent of children with special educational and emotional needs.
I was ordained in 1990 and am now Rector of three parishes, Elveden, Santon Downham and Lakenheath. I have a chocolate Labrador and enjoy walking, cooking and gardening.
Mrs Janice Flack
Since becoming Churchwarden and Elder of St Andrew & St Patrick Elveden, I have been taking part in helping and leading Collective Worship in the School, and also leading special services in the Church, which I find very rewarding seeing the children learn and interact with the many subjects concerning RE.
I have taken great pleasure in being able to come into school and see how the children apply their work using RE in other subjects.
My role with the diocese is mainly concerned with Elveden, helping in any way to keep our beautiful Church open.
Ms Deirdre Kane
I have been a parent governor at Elveden for a number of years . My children have now moved on to secondary school but as a result of there wonderful experience at Elveden I was delighted to be invited to continue in my roll as governor .
In my professional life I have always worked in the early years and primary school sector . There are many aspects to my current job including Teaching support , Parent Support Adviser , Emotional Literacy support , Attendance Officer and teaching PE.
Working in so many varied roles has given me a passion for the well being of the whole child using an all inclusive approach with child , school and family.
I hope as a governor that I can use my skills to enhance and support the amazing work that goes on at Elveden and to ensure that all children enjoy the same enriched experience of school life that my children had.
