Meet Our Governors
Mr Simon Munro
Chair of Governors DBE Governor
Currently, my two daughters attend Elveden. I became a Governor in 2017 as I had an interest in the way the school ran, along with its unique partnership with Forest Academy. I also sit as the Safeguarding Governor across both schools.
I would like to think that my day-job [as a Chief Inspector in the Police Service] and my experience can support and assist in developing the schools. I have previously undertaken secondments to the Home Office, the MOD and the National Police Chiefs’ Council. My current role is Head of Frontline Operations, which has a national commitment. Additionally, I sit as the Police Standards of Professional Behaviour Coordinator for the Police Service. It is funny how these roles map across into parts of school delivery and oversight, despite them being so different in function.
Outside of my job, and being a Governor, I am passionate around health, lifestyle and wellbeing. I am a qualified personal trainer and I voluntarily co-manage and instruct at a gym in my spare time. It is great to work with the school in developing opportunities for the children around physical activity and wellbeing.
I find the Governing role very interesting and fulfilling, as well as being an education in itself! It is a privilege to be part of two fantastic schools and I would encourage anyone interested to sit as a Governor.

Mrs Lisa Bird
I have worked at Elveden Academy as a Teaching Assistant for 4 1/2 years, during my time here i have done some 1:1 work as well as various medical training courses.
I am mother to 3 boys who are at various stages of their schooling. In my spare time i like to do different crafting projects including a little bit of wedding planning.
I wanted to be a staff governor so that i could better understand the behind the scenes working of the school.
