Badgers Class

Badgers have had a great first term learning about Nature and the Outdoors. For our Lost Words project, we loved learning all about Kingfishers and Dandelions and the children all wrote some amazing poetry and even created beautiful artwork. We learnt how to sketch and shade and also explored textures and colour with pastels and water colours. Our final lost work books, which were stuffed with art work and poetry, were then put up on display in Brandon County Park for the Community Arts Exhibition. It was lovely to see our work displayed in the community. For Literacy, we have loved reading the ‘classic’ story Winnie the Pooh and have enjoyed writing some brilliant narratives about him. In Maths, we have been working hard on our times tables and arithmetic and we have loved learning new methods for maths. In RE, we have learnt about the importance of Reconciliation and how it takes a stronger person to forgive. Next term, our new topic is Mighty Mountains and we will be learning all about the Himalayas and writing non-fiction reports on these mountains and Snowdonia. Our core text is The Abominables, where we will write engaging newspaper reports on Yeti Sightings! What another jam packed half term of learning we will have.
